The mechanical properties of AISI 4130 include a tensile strength of 560-700 MPa, yield strength of 460-580 MPa, and elongation of 25-30%. The alloy has very high toughness, excellent fatigue resistance, and pretty good weldability, making it very suitable for high-stress applications, aerospace, automotive, and structural applications, where strength-to-weight ratio becomes critical.
